Last week, we implemented a new patient check-in process. Thank you Veterans, caregivers, and family members for your willingness to adapt to this new change. Your patience and understanding are appreciated.
Our staff engaged Veterans upon entering the main facility and clinics, assisted with check-ins, and listened to valuable feedback.
As part of VA patient check-in modernization, kiosk use has been nationally discontinued. Many have asked how travel reimbursements are impacted.
Veterans eligible for VA travel pay reimbursement may use the Beneficiary Travel Self-Service System (BTSSS) designed to help Veterans submit claims for mileage reimbursement and other travel related expenses. BTSSS offers fast payment and direct deposit, 24/7 access to submit or track travel claims, and more all online.
Paper claims remain available and can be filed with the Eligibility department. For questions regarding travel claims, contact Erie VAMC’s Travel Clerk at 814-860-2973.
