NEW FOOD TRUCKS
Beginning August 1, Williams Mobile Louisiana Soul and Cajun Kitchen will join other food trucks in the Patriot Parking Lot on the Dallas campus. On August 8, Suso Kitchen will also be available offering a large variety of meals.
SUICIDE PREVENTION
Suicide Prevention is the VA's top clinical priority.
There is a new, easy-to-remember way to reach trained responders at the Veterans Crisis Line and it is available for Veterans and their loved ones 24/7.The number is new, but the support is the same. Dial 1-800-273-8255, then press 1 to reach a responder.
Veterans don't have to be enrolled in VA benefits or health care to call.

JOINT COMMISSION TIP OF THE WEEK
The Hospital identifies the patient’s preferred language for discussing healthcare.
VANTHCS has Language Line to access to provide translator services.
WHEN RECEIVING A CALL: 1. Use Conference Hold to place the limited English speaker on hold. 2. Dial: 1-866-874-3972 3. Enter on your telephone keypad or provide the representative the 6-digit Client ID: 599411. Press 2 for all other languages. Speak the name of the language you need at the prompt. An Interpreter will be connected to the call. 4. Brief the Interpreter. Summarize what you wish to accomplish and give any special instructions. 5. ADD THE limited-ENGLISH SPEAKER to the line. 6. Say “End of Call” to the Interpreter when the call is completed.
NOTE: When placing a call to a limited-English speaker, begin at Step 2. If you need assistance placing a call to a limited-English speaker, please inform the interpreter at the beginning of the call. Once call is complete, send an e-mail to NTX EEO Staff Alonzo.price@va.gov with the start & stop time and Language of the call.

FREE LEGAL ADVICE

The Dallas Volunteer Attorney program and the Dallas Bar Association provides free legal advice to low income Veterans and their spouses on the first Friday of each month from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Admission is limited to the first 40 participants. Applicants should arrive by 1:00 p.m. to sign in. No appointments are needed.

HRO "GOOD CATCH" RECOGNITION
VA North Texas' HRO team encourages staff to submit "Good Catch" stories recognizing fellow employees.
Each story should highlight a "Good catch" made during an HRO Journey.

OWN THE MOMENT TRAINING
Employees that have not attended the OTM Face to Face Workshop (TMS Course #4203124) or completed the Virtual OTM Workshop (TMS Course #42980) must complete by September 30, 2022.
Own the Moment Refresher training (TMS Course #43391) is required for employees that completed the OTM Workshop Prior to FY20. The refresher course must be completed by September 30, 2022.

LIBRARY SERVICE RECOGNIZES PSORIASIS ACTION MONTH
August is Psoriasis Action Month. Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes raised, red, scaly patches to appear on the skin. Usually, something triggers psoriasis to flare up. Psoriasis is not contagious, and often develops between the ages of 15 and 35, but it can develop at any age. Psoriasis can appear anywhere on the body, but typically affects the outside of the elbows, knees, or scalp. Effective treatments are available no matter where psoriasis is located. Psoriasis is associated with other health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, and depression.
