Vaccines continue to protect people from serious illness, hospitalization and death—especially people who get a booster.
Following the recent FDA approvals and CDC recommendations, we’re now offering a second booster shot with a Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, if you are:
-
50 years of age or older and your first booster dose was at least four months ago, or
-
Moderate to severely immune compromised and your first booster dose was at least four months ago (for some, a fifth dose), or
-
Four months out from a booster dose and had Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine for both your initial vaccine and your booster.
No appointment needed in some locations
VA ECHCS walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics are available Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora and PFC Floyd K. Lindstrom VA Clinic in Colorado Springs. Walk-ins are also welcomed Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at PFC James Dunn VA Clinic in Pueblo.
The walk-in clinics offer Pfizer, Moderna and J&J vaccines. In most situations, the mRNA vaccines Pfizer and Moderna are preferred.
To book a free ride for a COVID-19 vaccination using local ride-sharing services, call 1-855-205-7325.
CDC vaccination cards always needed
Whenever requesting a COVID-19 booster or additional dose, be sure to bring your CDC vaccination card. Enrolled Veterans who were vaccinated outside VA should bring their vaccination card to their next appointment for a VA medical record update.
