Additional COVID-19 vaccine boosters for Veterans, their spouses & caregivers, VA employees, and CHAMPVA recipients
Veterans Health Administration sent this bulletin at 04/01/2022 01:54 PM EDTStarting Monday, April 4, VA Boston will be providing additional booster doses to eligible Veterans, their spouses and caregivers, VA employees, and CHAMPVA recipients at our walk-in vaccine clinics.
A second booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine or Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine may be administered to individuals age 50 and older at least 4 months after receipt of a first booster dose of any authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine.
A second booster dose of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine may be administered at least 4 months after the first booster dose of any authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine to individuals age 18 and older with certain immunocompromise conditions. Ask your doctor for more information.
An additional booster dose of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine or Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine may also be administered to individuals ages 18-49 who are not moderately or severely immunocompromised and who received Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine as both their primary series dose and first booster, at least 4 months after the first Janssen booster dose was received.

* Vaccine clinics and testing sites are closed during all federal holidays.
First boosters are available for adults whose last Moderna or Pfizer vaccine was more than 5 months ago or 2 months ago for the J&J / Janssen vaccine. Full 3rd and 4th doses are only for individuals who are immunocompromised; visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/recommendations/immuno.html for more information. You must bring your CDC card from previous COVID-19 vaccinations.
Please note that walk-in vaccination clinics are first come, first served, and participants will be offered a vaccine based on clinical need and inventory. Veterans, their spouses and caregivers, VA employees and CHAMPVA recipients under the authority of the SAVE LIVES Act (SLA) must have eligibility established. For faster service at the clinic, you may preregister by visiting https://www.va.gov/health-care/covid-19-vaccine/sign-up/introduction.

Screening, approved masks and physical distancing are still required at our facilities.
