Troy Bowling Emergency Department does not conduct COVID testing except for emergent cases. If you need testing for travel, return to work, or short notice, non-emergent, schedule a test by calling 859-233-4949.
Testing is conducted at our Franklin Sousley Campus, under the awning when you drive around the campus.

General guidelines
- Inpatients may have one visitor per day, between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Visitors must meet screening criteria and follow masking policy while in LVAHCS facilities
- No one under the age of 16 is permitted in any Lexington VAHCS facility. Keep kids safe by keeping them out of the hospital
- Outpatient areas: only one care partner is permitted for assistance with transport, facilitation of care, or decision making
- Visitation exceptions for end of life is decided on a case-by-case basis
Surgery Patients
- Care partner may come in with Veteran, remain in designating waiting area to receive post-op instruction and to drive Veteran home
- Care partner must meet screening criteria and follow masking policy while in LVAHCS facilities
- All directions from staff members must be followed
- Care partners are restricted to the designated area and may not venture into other areas unless accompanied by staff
CLC
- Visitations will be scheduled in advance by the Veteran's family / friend with CLC staff
- Visitation will be scheduled in 30-minute increments
- Visitors will be screened and will be required to wear a mask at all times
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in any Lexington VA Health Care facility. The Family Room in the garage is now closed.
All Veterans, visitors and staff members are screened every time they enter a Lexington VA Health Care System facility.
- Do you have a fever?
- Do you have a cough?
- Have you been exposed to someone who is positive for COVID-19?
- Have you tested positive for COVID-19?
The purpose for this screening is to keep you and other people in our facility safe. If you say yes to any of the questions, it does not mean you will be kept from receiving care. It will just ensure our staff and other Veterans are being kept safe at the same time.
Masks, covering both mouth and nose, are required in all areas of our facility.
