Given the recent rise in community prevalence of the Omicron variant, the number of veterans coming to the Emergency Department (ED) for asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic testing has increased dramatically. In order to maintain the safety of patients and staff and efficient operation of the ED, campus-specific guidance has been issued.
A copy of this guidance can be found at the South Texas VA’s website: https://www.va.gov/south-texas-health-care/
Patients who receive their care at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital should be aware that all COVID testing is done by appointment only. They are asked to contact their primary care provider or PACT to obtain an appointment through secure messaging or by calling the COPAC at (210) 949-9702.
In case you are viewing this message on your phone, hit the buttons to check available appointments in those respective communities.
You have heard repeatedly in this message the term secure messaging. Secure messaging puts you in touch with your healthcare team. This service is also an expedited way for you to obtain services (like a COVID test) quickly and efficiently. It's very simple to register. You can do that right here.
