COVID-19 boosters & women Veterans focus group news for you

Walla Walla VA Medical Center News Update

Happy New Year to all! It’s a new year and VA is committed to keeping everyone healthy!

 COVID-19 VACCINATION/BOOSTER SHOT REMINDER

Have you completed your COVID-19 shot series or gotten a booster shot yet? The Walla Walla VA continues to offer vaccinations to all eligible Veterans, spouses, and caregivers. COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots are available at all clinic locations. Call us at 509.525.5200, and dial “2” and “2” to speak with your provider team or to schedule a vaccination appointment. Days/times that vaccinations are available vary depending on clinic location.

Note the Walla Walla VA continues to offer the Moderna vaccine (the Pfizer vaccine is not available at any of our clinic locations). If you've received the Pfizer or Janssen vaccine in the past and are wondering if you could receive a booster vaccination at one of Walla Walla VA's clinic locations, know you can safely receive the Moderna vaccine as a booster. Just give us a call to set up your appointment.

A friendly reminder if you’ve received your COVID-19 vaccinations in your local community, be sure you provide your vaccination information to the VA so we can place it in your patient record.

Review the attached COVID-19 Booster Shot Fact Sheet to answer any questions you might have about the booster shot (see further below). Got other questions? Contact Linda Wondra, Public Affairs, at 509.525.5200, ext. 26520.

The Walla Walla VA is dedicated in providing exceptional health care to all Veterans, including women Veterans. Our Women Veterans Program is holding recurring virtual focus groups to learn how VA can improve the care provided to women Veterans. Our next women Veterans focus group is scheduled for:

 January 5, 2022    |    3:00 – 4:00 p.m.  |   Virtual via Webex

Women Veterans interested in signing up for this focus group can contact linda.wondra@va.gov or call 509.386.1117. Let your voice be heard on how you would like to see health care delivered to women Veterans in the future.

Walla Walla VA's Women Veterans Program has started a quarterly women Veterans newsletter titled “Walla Walla VA’s Women Warriors Update”, which we’ve attached to this email (further below). This first issue includes an introduction to Walla Walla VA’s women Veterans’ health team, as well as other important information about women Veterans health care. Note that this quarterly newsletter will continue to be delivered via email, so be sure that your email information in your patient record is current so you can continue to receive it. We will also be posting each edition on our external website on the Women Veterans Care page (Women Veteran Care | VA Walla Walla Health Care | Veterans Affairs).

And thank you for choosing the Walla Walla VA for your health care needs.
