COVID vaccine

VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System is now offering COVID-19 boosters at the LTC Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor, as well as our clinics in Flint, Jackson, Adrian, and Toledo, Ohio, which carry the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

Given the fast spread of the Omicron variant and improved protection with a booster, delaying a booster is not recommended.

VA strongly recommends a COVID-19 booster dose for individuals 18 and older who were vaccinated with Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna 6 or more months ago, or with Johnson & Johnson (J&J) 2 or more months ago. Individuals younger than 18 years old should only get the Pfizer-BioNTech as a booster.

On December 16, CDC recommended that individuals receive Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines, now preferred over the J&J COVID-19 vaccine.

If you’d like to receive a COVID-19 booster or vaccination at the LTC Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center, or one of the clinics in Adrian, Flint, or Jackson, Michigan, please call 734-769-7100 for scheduling.

If you’d like to receive a COVID-19 booster or vaccination at the Toledo, Ohio VA Clinic, please call 419-259-2000 for scheduling.

There is currently little to no wait time at any VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System facility for COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.

The safety and care of Veterans is VA’s top priority, as well as ensuring the health and welfare of its workforce. Vaccine booster shots are available for VA employees and Veterans receiving care at VA. Vaccine booster shots are also available to all other Veterans, spouses, caregivers and CHAMPVA recipients under the authority of the SAVE LIVES Act, as supply and capacity permits.

All persons coming in for a booster shot should bring their CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Card with them.
