Message from the Chief Chaplain | David P. Fugate
As the last few days of 2021 quickly slip by, we prepare for a new year.
Although we live in an uncertain world – the ongoing pandemic, health, and relationships – we must hold on to hope.
In the midst of things that cause anxiety, let us anchor ourselves to the good things as we face the unknown.
Perhaps it is our family or friends we visit this holiday season. Be encouraged, be thankful for their presence.
It could be a religious community. Be grateful for the groups offering support during the highs and lows of life. It might be your spiritual practices. Be thankful for those things that ground you and provide peace, love, and joy.
May we hold dear to the rooted, unyielding, and steadfast things – those that cannot be shaken as we transition into a new year.
May this time of year provide comfort, knowing the year ahead is a fresh start for all.
