COVID-19 & Flu Vaccines Available for Enrolled Veterans
LEAVENWORTH, KS – With our Leavenworth VA Drive-Thru Flu Clinic recently ending on 30 October, Veterans are still welcome to receive a flu shot and/or a COVID-19 vaccines at our off-site location.
Address: 3450 South 4th Street Trafficway, Leavenworth.
Enrolled Veterans should bring a VA ID card and wear clothing that allows staff to reach their upper arm.
Veterans who have a scheduled medical appointment with their provider can receive a flu vaccine at the main medical center while at their appointment, in a Primary Care, Behavioral Health or Specialty Clinic. Appointments at the medical center will not be made for just the flu vaccine alone.
If you have suspected or confirmed COVID-19 or have been exposed within two weeks, please stay home as instructed and do not go for a flu vaccine to any location until released from quarantine. If you think you may have COVID-19, contact your VA medical team.
The COVID-19 vaccine can be co-administered with other vaccines. Unvaccinated Veterans wishing to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine in accordance with CDC guidelines, should call our Central Scheduling Unit at 1-800-574-8387, Ext. 54453. Veterans who wish to receive both the COVID-19 vaccine and flu vaccine on the same day should state this when booking their COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
Times and locations of the Leavenworth VA off-site vaccine clinic is provided below:
- VA Contracting Building - 3450 South 4th Street Trafficway, Leavenworth, KS.
- Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Unable to make it to the Leavenworth VA off-site vaccine clinic? All Veterans enrolled in VA care can also receive a free flu vaccine on a walk-in basis at any pharmacy or urgent care clinic in the VA’s Community Care Network. Simply tell staff that you are an eligible Veteran who is enrolled in VA care and show your VA ID card. When you receive a flu vaccine at any non-VA location, please notify your team directly or send a SECURE MESSAGE using My Health-E Vet (www.myhealth.va.gov) to leave a message which includes your name, last 4 digits of Social Security number, and the date and location that you received the vaccine so your VA medical record can be updated. Bringing your vaccine information to your scheduled appointments is always appreciated so your record can be updated.
