VAIRRS Wizard Completion Campaign: Cover and Info Sheet

Over the next month, the VAIRRS Program will follow up with research offices and investigators with active projects, including start dates prior to onboarding, concerning Project Cover Sheet Wizards completion.

We aim to complete the Project Cover Sheet for all active and new studies by December 15, 2021.

These will add to the 4,764 completed wizards!

IN FOCUS

Optimization Dashboards

The first round of optimization dashboards will be presented to the Dashboard Focus Groups in early November. We will present the program-level overview dashboard and the project-level view dashboard.

VAIRRS Standard Library Updates

The revised IRB Information Sheet will be published on October 29, 2021.

All IRB Administrators are invited to review the changes posted in the sandbox environment and VAIRRS SharePoint site prior to publishing the revised wizard. The changes include:

All respondents are presented with the multi-site question
Addition of Local Participating Site branch of questions
Addition of Expedited Categories 8 and 9
N/A option for the clinical trial phase
All respondents are presented with the Recruitment Strategy page
Addition of Subject Group Interaction question

VAIRRS Site Discussion

We are contacting all VAIRRS sites to set up discussions regarding your experience implementing IRBNet.

Tier 1 site discussions are underway and are scheduled for October to November 2021.

Tier 2 sites can expect a scheduling invite around December 2021 and Tier 3 sites thereafter. This is an opportunity to share your experience and recommendations for how the program can provide ongoing support. For more information on the discussion, contact Raya Fares, raya.fares@va.gov.

The goal of the site discussion is to improve the workflow for IRBNet at your VAMC. We plan to host site discussions to ensure IRBNet is integrated into your VAMC's workflow and address any concerns during the call.

TMS/CITI Integration Updates

TMS integration is nearly complete!

We appreciate your patience and expect to have TMS records imported into IRBNet by December 2021.

Central IRB Trainings

The next quarterly training refresher for new CIRB Investigators and study teams will be held in January 2022.

Reminder: It is expected that all VAIRRS sites will use the standard library and supplement with local forms as necessary. The Project Cover Sheet and IRB Information Sheet Wizards must be completed by December 15, 2021.
