Lovell FHCC Weekend Vaccine Clinics at Cristo Rey College Prep

The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center will partner with Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep in Waukegan, Illinois to provide COVID-19 vaccines and boosters Saturday, October 30 and Saturday, November 6 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Make sure to take your CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card when you go!

Booster Shots:

The Food and Drug Administration issued Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for use of Moderna or Janssen COVID-19 vaccine as a single-dose booster, in addition to the previous authorization of a Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)  recommends offering a single-dose COVID-19 booster to people who have completed an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine series (Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech) six or more months ago and who are:

• 65 years and older
• Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
• Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
• Age 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings.

The CDC also recommends a booster dose for people who received a Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine at least 2 months prior and are aged 18 and older.

Individuals eligible for boosters may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose.

Veterans not enrolled in VA care, their spouses and their caregivers are now eligible to receive COVID vaccines thru us, including boosters and 3^rd shots!

COVID-19 Vaccinations at FHCC Main Hospital BLDG 133EF:

If you are unable to make our  Saturday vaccine clinics, there are other opportunities to schedule vaccine appointments.

All veterans, their spouses and caregivers, 18 and older, can walk-in for vaccinations between 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays, to the Immunizations Clinic.

Pediatric patients may walk-in, for their first series vaccination, with a parent or guardian, Thursdays between 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. to the Immunizations Clinic. This includes TRICARE beneficiaries AND children of veterans now eligible under the SAVE LIVES Act.

Appointments are available for pediatric patients, ages 12-17, 8 a.m. to noon, on these Saturdays: Oct. 30, Nov. 20 and Dec. 11.

Appointments are encouraged, call 224-610-3899 to make schedule. Pediatric patients must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
