Drive-thru COVID-19 Testing Available at Tampa VA

Dear Veterans,

James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital is now accepting Veterans with COVID-19 swabbing orders in the parking garage for drive-thru testing. Patients should contact their Primary Care Providers to ensure an order for testing has been placed. Veterans without a Primary Care evaluation and order will be unable to use this service. This service will speed up the testing process and eliminate the need for an unnecessary visit to the Emergency Department. Drive-thru swab testing is separate from testing needed for scheduled procedures.

 After you receive a swabbing order enter the parking garage and turn left immediately upon entering the garage. Please follow the signs directing you to the drive-thru swabbing area. You will need to wear your mask, turn your vehicle off and roll down your window.

Patients experiencing shortness of breath, chest pain or other potentially life-threatening symptoms will still need to check into the Emergency Department. Report immediately to the Emergency Department if you feel you need to be evaluated for a medical emergency.

Please do not go to the COVID-19 swab area in the parking garage if you need to be evaluated for a medical emergency.

Hours of operation for drive-thru swab testing are: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
