COVID-19 vaccine available at all Kansas City VA Community Clinics
In an effort to increase vaccine availability and vaccination opportunities, the Kansas City VA Medical Center (KCVA) will offer COVID-19 vaccines at all KCVA Community Outpatient Clinics in the Kansas City Metro and surrounding communities starting July 15, 2021. Contact your respective primary care clinic for availability and schedule a vaccine appointment.
Additionally, KCVA now offers COVID vaccines to Veterans receiving inpatient care at our main campus at 4801 Linwood Blvd., Kansas City MO 64128.
All Veterans, regardless of enrollment status, are eligible for the vaccine. Additionally, Veteran’s family members and caregivers are eligible for vaccinations without an appointment. This includes Adolescents, ages 12-17, who can receive the Pfizer vaccine at the Honor Annex on Fridays. A legal guardian must accompany the adolescent and provide the adolescent’s full SSN to receive the vaccine.
Adolescents vaccinations are available to Veteran caregivers and those who qualify as beneficiaries under VA’s Civilian Health and Medical Program. The expansion is in line with recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Food and Drug Administration.
Appointments are not required but are highly encouraged to guarantee a vaccine dose. Veterans can call their respective primary care clinic to schedule a vaccination appointment. Veterans, their family members, and caregivers can walk into these clinics without an appointment and receive their COVID-19 vaccine “on the spot.”
