HAPPENING TODAY (March 27): Walk-In, Women Veteran COVID-19 vaccine opportunities for enrolled patients
Veterans Health Administration sent this bulletin at 03/27/2021 11:49 AM EDTDear Veterans, Family Members, Caregivers and Stakeholders,
VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System is hosting a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic for all enrolled Veterans, regardless of age, to receive the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today (March 27), at the North Las Vegas VA Medical Center Auditorium, 6900 N. Pecos Road, North Las Vegas NV 89086.
Additionally, VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System's Women's Health Clinic is offering any enrolled woman Veteran who has not yet received a COVID-19 vaccine an in-clinic opportunity to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine today from up until noon today. Enrolled women Veterans interested in this opportunity should let staff know upon arrival and they will be directed to the Women's Clinic (Note: Veterans with appointments have priority and all others will be provided the vaccine on a first-come, first-served basis).
Currently, VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System continues to only vaccinate enrolled Veterans and primary and secondary caregivers in the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers. We are awaiting further guidance from VA on expansion of our authority under the recently signed SAVE LIVES Act and will share that information when it becomes available.
In the meantime, Veterans, caregivers, spouses, and CHAMPVA beneficiaries newly eligible under the law can go to www.va.gov/covid-19-vaccine to register and indicate their interest in receiving a vaccine from VA. Signing up will also give users regular updates about VA’s vaccine rollout process.
Individuals can also sign up to get vaccinated through their employer, pharmacy or local public health office. We encourage non-enrolled Veterans and their loved ones to take the first opportunity to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
Veterans, family members and caregivers can visit this medical center’s COVID-19 Vaccine website https://www.lasvegas.va.gov/services/covid-19-vaccines.asp as this page will be updated when we are able to offer additional individuals the vaccine.
Thank you for allowing us to serve you. As of March 26, VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System has provided more than 38,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines locally.
