NEWS UPDATE

Dear VA NorCal News Subscriber:
If you're an enrolled Veteran who already receives care at VA or a registered caregiver in the Sacramento area who has not received a vaccine, you don't want to miss our COVID-19 vaccine drive-up clinic TODAY from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sacramento VA Medical Center. Enrolled Veterans and caregivers will receive free COVID-19 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines without leaving their vehicles. No appointment required, while supplies last.
The address is 10535 Hospital Way, Mather, CA 95655. Please follow directional signage. Appointments to return 21 days later for a second dose of the vaccine will be scheduled during your visit.
Unsure about receiving a vaccine? Safety is our top priority. Before the FDA authorizes a vaccine for use, they carefully review the available safety data and clinical trial results for that vaccine. The U.S. vaccine safety system ensures that all vaccines are as safe as possible. Read about the vaccine's safety and effectiveness at https://www.va.gov/health-care/covid-19-vaccine/.
Still unsure about getting a vaccine? Read a few words from your fellow Veterans who have already been vaccinated at VA NorCal.
Ruby Bruce, 84, U.S. Air Force Veteran
"Shots don't bother me. If I can take it, so can you."

Maximo Nisperos, U.S. Army Veteran
"It's good to know I've been inoculated against the virus. I was happy to get the vaccine so soon. If you're older or have underlying health conditions, get the shot."

Ann Elizabeth Martin-Stubbs, U.S. Air Force Veteran and Veteran caregiver
"Even though we have our doubts as a race about being guinea pigs, I'm glad I did it. I was expecting to get a vaccine sometime in the summer. I now feel relieved and more confident about getting on a plane. This was a wonderful experience."
