VA ECHCS extends COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to all enrolled and eligible Veterans
Veterans Health Administration sent this bulletin at 03/26/2021 10:23 AM EDTDear Veteran,
VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) is pleased to announce that we have opened eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to all enrolled and eligible Veterans.
If you are interested in receiving your COVID-19 vaccine, you may schedule an appointment when checking in for your next VA appointment or you may call our call center at 888-336-8262. Please note, our call center has been receiving higher than normal call volume and you may experience long hold times. The call center is open 24/7 and shorter hold times may be experienced by calling after 6 p.m. and before 8 a.m.
If you are able to receive your vaccine in the community sooner, please do so. We know that this is a personal decision and we encourage eligible Veterans to get vaccinated against COVID-19 when a vaccine is available to them. VA respects and understands that some people may prefer a particular vaccine due to a variety of reasons. However, due to the limited supply of vaccines currently available, facilities may not be able to offer more than one vaccine manufacturer at this time.
Congress has passed a new law that allows VA to offer COVID-19 vaccines to more Veterans, some spouses, and caregivers of Veterans. While VA works to implement this law, please let us know if your loved ones or caregivers are interested by signing up at www.va.gov/health-care/covid-19-vaccine/stay-informed. We appreciate your patience as we prepare to offer more vaccines. If you know a Veteran who would like to enroll in VA health care, please direct them to www.va.gov/health-care/how-to-apply/.
Thank you for your service and thank you for choosing VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System for your health care needs.
Sincerely,
VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System
Reminder – VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System is a federal provider of health care and face masks are required.
