To avoid possible long wait times at mass vaccine sites throughout the KC Metro area VAEK will offer and encourage rural Veteran walk-in opportunities on Saturday March 20th 8am – 2pm at the Leavenworth VA Medical Center and on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, March 22-24 from 9am – 2:30pm at the VA Contracting Office. (while supplies last each day).
VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System has provided over 20,000 total doses of vaccine to include the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine, the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine and the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine. Those who have already received round one of the Moderna Vaccine will need to continue as planned in receiving their second dose 28 days following the first. If already scheduled for an appointment at any of our VA Eastern Kansas locations, you are asked to keep that appointment.
For up-to-date information on the vaccine distribution see VA’s VA COVID-19 vaccine webpage, which launched on December 11, 2020. Veterans are encouraged to sign up to receive regular updates on the vaccine on the VA’s Stay Informed page.
