Hello,

This is a message from the Tampa VA with an update on our availability for COVID-19 vaccinations to the community. Please read the entire email. In collaboration with the Department of Health in Hillsborough County (DOH-Hillsborough), the Tampa VA is operating a drive-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic for COMMUNITY MEMBERS (NON-VA PATIENTS) who meet State of Florida guidelines, which are currently:

  • Persons 50 years of age and older (effect Monday, March 22 per Governor's proclamation);
  • Persons age 16 and older determined to be extremely vulnerable by a physician (form required - bring to appointment)
  • Health care workers with direct patient contact;
  • K-12 school employees 50 years of age and older;
  • Sworn law enforcement officers 50 years of age and older; and
  • Firefighters 50 years of age and older

and who are:

  • A Veteran NOT currently enrolled (NOT a patient not currently receiving care in the VA), or
  • A family member of ANY Veteran - patient of VA or not
  • A family member of a VA employee

Please share this link with anyone who meets both sets of criteria www.tampava.eventbrite.com so they may self-schedule an appointment. Several new dates have been added to the site. Please check back often as we will be adding appointments regularly. Vaccinations are provided FREE of charge.

The clinic for community members will be held in the Tampa VA Freedom Parking Lot at 13202 Livingston Ave. Tampa, FL 33612. The Freedom parking lot is one block south of the Wawa Gas Station at 2325 E Fletcher Ave Tampa. COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO MEET THE ABOVE CRITERIA should NOT not report to the main campus. The vaccine site for community members is in an offsite parking lot adjacent to the main hospital.

  • You must have an appointment and must not have received any other vaccination in the past 14 days. This is a drive-up vaccination clinic, so expect to stay in your car for the duration of the vaccination process.
  • After registering, please complete the State of Florida form at the link below, print and bring with you the day of vaccination. You do not need to complete the insurance information. The form is located here: Florida COVID-19 Vaccine Consent
  • Please bring the ticket you receive in your email after completing registration. You can either print this or display on your smart phone, but we do need the consent form printed and complete.
  • Please bring your driver's license or government-issued ID and documentation to indicate that you are in one of the qualifying groups outlined in the State of Florida vaccination guidelines (included above).

If you are a VETERAN ENROLLED WITH/RECEIVING CARE AT TAMPA VA, we are now offering the COVID-19 vaccine to patients of all ages, regardless of medical condition. Walk-ins are available in the SCI Dining Rooms Clinic on the Main Campus Tuesday-Saturday anytime from 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Otherwise, please reach out to your Primary Care Team to schedule an appointment and check our website frequently as schedules and availability change week-to-week.
