Miami VA COVID Vaccination Update - February 2, 2021
We now have Veteran Vaccination Clinics, by appointment only, at the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center, William “Bill” Kling VA Clinic, Homestead VA Clinic and Key West VA Clinic for Veterans who are aged 65 years and older and who are active patients of the Miami VA Healthcare System.
Veterans must be enrolled and eligible for VA health care benefits and must be able to return to the same site for their second dose.
Veterans who wish to register their interest in receiving a vaccine when it is available have two options:
- They can speak with their care teams who will schedule their appointment if eligible or note their interest.
- The can visit the VA web page at va.gov/health-care/covid-19-vaccine/and sign-up to be contacted.
We are continuing to schedule eligible Veterans for vaccination appointments as more vaccine becomes available.
Local COVID Research Opportunities
Miami VA is recruiting volunteers to safely test new vaccines and treatments to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Anyone over the age of 18 can volunteer: Veterans, family members and friends. Your family and community will “thank you for your service.”
Register here: https://www.va.gov/coronavirus-research and we will contact you if you are a good match for a study.
Updated Screening Procedures
There are now two patient screening entrances for Veterans at the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center - the front main lobby entrance and west patio entrance. Both entrances will have an express lane access. The express lane will allow Veterans/Employees/Caregivers to enter quickly for temperature check and ID verification as applicable.
To use the express access lane for faster screening, visit www.va.gov/covid19screen. Answer the questions and show your results to the screener at the entrance.
