COVID-19 Moderna Vaccine Recall Clarification
Veterans Health Administration sent this bulletin at 01/20/2021 10:22 AM ESTOn January 19, 2021, one specific lot of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine was recalled pending further investigation due to a higher than expected number of allergic type reactions observed within 15 minutes of receiving the vaccine. These specific reactions were observed at one specific site in the community. This specific lot was distributed to 287 clinics and healthcare providers in the state of California. This lot was not distributed to the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center or to any sites in Michigan.
Please note, as more of the Moderna Vaccine becomes available, Veterans will be contacted and scheduled for an appointment to receive the vaccination. You do not need to call as there is no sign up list. Please refer to the resource provided below regarding the COVID Risk Fact sheet.
