VAPAHCS Prepares In Case of COVID-19 Surge
While VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) is not currently experiencing a COVID-19 surge, we continue to monitor community positivity rates and remain vigilant. We want to keep you safe and also do not want to cancel visits and delay patient care should a surge occur.
To ensure patient and staff safety, and to make sure that your upcoming visit is not cancelled because of a surge, VAPAHCS outpatient visits that can be conducted virtually will be converted to video visit using VA Video Connect (VVC). We anticipate the conversion to VVC visits will continue over the next several months as long as COVID-19 cases in the community remain high. If your provider feels you can be seen virtually, you will receive a call from our scheduling team to convert your appointment to a video visit.
In the meantime, you can review the following resources to prepare:
- VA Video Connect
- Use the VA chat bot to walk you through VVC preparedness by texting the letter “V” to 916-665-0066 to confirm that your mobile device is functional before your VA Video Connect Appointment. PLEASE NOTE: You will be helped by our automated VVC trainer from Northern California VA. Don't worry, all appointments you schedule will be for VA Palo Alto Health Care System!)
- Try a video test call: VA Video Test Site
