Influenza (Flu) and COVID-19 are both contagious respiratory illnesses, but they are caused by different viruses. While more is learned every day, there is still a lot that is unknown about COVID-19 and the virus that causes it. Flu vaccination can keep you from getting sick with flu and reduce the risk of being hospitalized. Getting a flu vaccine is especially important for people with health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. Pregnant women and young children should also get a flu shot.
Getting vaccinated yourself may also protect people around you, including those who are more vulnerable to serious flu illness, like babies and young children, older people, and people with certain chronic health conditions.

More convenience, faster processing with VA’s new online portal for beneficiary travel
Beginning this week, Veterans, caregivers, and beneficiaries who are eligible for reimbursement of mileage and other travel expenses to and from approved health care appointments can now enter claims in the new Beneficiary Travel Self-Service System (BTSSS). BTSSS simplifies the current claim submission process for beneficiaries and ensures timely processing and payment of travel reimbursements.

A DS Logon is an ID issued by DoD that will allows Veterans and caregivers to access many VA and DoD sites with one user username and password.

VA Caregiver Support Program Expands Eligibility
The Veterans Affairs Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers has expanded! The program is now open to eligible WWII, Korean War and Vietnam Veterans. The program has expanded to caregivers of eligible Veterans who incurred or aggravated a serious injury in the line of duty in the active military, naval, or air service on or before May 7, 1975.
