The Hines VA Hospital Health Care for Homeless Veterans Program, in cooperation with the Oak Park Vet Center, Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and a variety of community partners is hosting the Chicago Area Winter Stand Down for homeless Veterans on Tuesday, November 9th, from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the General Jones Armory, 5200 Cottage Grove Drive, Chicago, IL.

Navy Chief Petty Officers Visit Hines

More than 100 Chief Petty Officers in full uniform visited patients at the Hines VA Hospital in September. Hines patients were thrilled to meet these men and women in uniform.

Tony Spillie, Hines Social Work Executive, was recently honored with the 2010 Under Secretary for Health Award for Excellence in Social Work Leadership at a Washington DC ceremony. This is the highest award possible for VA social workers.
