COVID-19 Update on Billing Statements.
Veterans Health Administration sent this bulletin at 08/24/2020 04:32 PM EDT
Dear Veteran,
The last few months have significantly impacted our way of life.
As we continue to navigate COVID-19 and get a better grip on the new normal and ever-changing landscape, we’d like to provide you an update on billing statements.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) has not been sending billing statements to Veterans due to Veterans possibly being impacted by COVID-19. DVA recognizes that Veterans and beneficiaries may still be impacted by COVID-19, prompting the extension of financial relief through December 31, 2020.
DVA is suspending all actions on Veteran debts under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Treasury Department. Additionally, this includes the suspension of collection action or extending repayment terms on preexisting VA debts, whichever the Veteran prefers. Veterans may continue making payments during the pandemic if they prefer either by mail, online, or by telephone.
If you have questions regarding debt related to VA Benefits, please contact the VA Debt Management Center at 800-827-0648 to make arrangements.
If you have questions regarding debt related to VA Health Care, please contact the Health Resource Center at 888-827-4817 to make arrangements. (Be sure to have your account number ready).
