Behind the Scenes of COVID-19 - Durham VA Health Care System

Thank you for assisting us in the fight against COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Our goal is to ensure the safety of every Veteran, Staff Member, and their families. Your willingness to use our telehealth options, rather than coming into to the medical center, has made a significant impact on our ability to slow the spread of the Coronavirus. We know that you may be curious about our activities to keep our Veterans and Staff safe.
We have created a video series known as Behind the Scenes of COVID-19, which gives insight into the daily activities of the Durham VA Health Care System (DVAHCS) to fight the Coronavirus. There are two videos that we recommend. The first is of Environmental Management Services (EMS). The EMS is responsible for our daily sanitation, upkeep, and cleanliness of the DVAHCS, which is a critical part of fighting the Coronavirus. Please see the video here.
The second video is about our COVID-19 Quick Response Team (QRT). The QRT has deployed to two North Carolina State Veteran homes. One in Kingston, on April 21st and to a second nursing home on April 28th. The QRT was sent out in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. The team consists of nurses, infectious control personnel, and administrators, who tested Veteran residents and staff. See the video here.
All of these actions are in support of our fellow Veterans, brothers and sisters-at-arms. The care of Veterans is important to the well-being of the local community and the Nation. We are honored to support Veterans in every was possible. Therefore, if you need assistance, please call 919-286-0411 and choose option 3 to speak with a nurse. If you have an urgent or emergency need, we encourage you to come into the medical center for assistance. We do ask that you call before coming to ensure that we have everything set up for your arrival.
