Dear GI Bill® Beneficiary,
In late October 2020, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) exhausted its available funding for the Veteran Employment Through Technology Education Courses (VET TEC) program, but recent legislation, Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 (P.L.116-315), increased annual funding for VET TEC to $45 million.
As someone who received a VET TEC Certificate of Eligibility, we are letting you know that starting on April 1, VA will begin accepting new student enrollments for VET TEC training programs.
Please be advised that changes to your GI Bill eligibility after the date your COE was issued may impact your current eligibility for VET TEC and you must continue to comply with all VET TEC eligibility criteria prior to the start date of your training.
VA will reevaluate your eligibility to the VET TEC program and assess available funding when you successfully enroll into an approved program of training. If you receive notice there is no funding available or your eligibility for VET TEC changes, you may always re-apply.
What do you need to do?
If you wish to participate in the VET TEC program and have a specific VET TEC Training Provider that you would like to use for your high-technology training, please contact the Training Provider to enroll in their program.
If you wish to participate in the VET TEC program and do not have a specific VET TEC Training Provider in mind, please visit our website for more information on approved VET TEC Training Providers and programs. Once you have selected a Training Provider, please contact them to enroll in their program.
In both cases, once enrolled, the Training Provider will submit an enrollment certification to VA on your behalf.
If you have any questions, please contact the Education Call Center at: 1-888-442-4551 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. ET, Monday-Friday.
