VAAA Seeking Applicants

The 2016-2017 Education with Industry (EWI) pilot is open to contracting professionals and mid-level construction and facilities management professionals!

In an effort to continue offering new and diverse professional opportunities to the VA acquisition workforce, the VA Acquisition Academy (VAAA) Contracting Professional School (CPS) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2016-2017 VAAA Education with Industry (EWI) Program Pilot. This 10-month program pilot is designed to provide high-performing individuals with hands-on experience in the private sector.

Scheduled to begin August 2016, selectees will work full-time in private industry to gain valuable exposure to new environments through an immersive, application-based experience designed to broaden their existing operational and technical skill sets.

Eligible candidates must have at least two years of current VA experience as an 1102 for the contracting component, or 0800 for the construction and facilities management component, and be classified as a GS 11-13 at the time of application and program start. Program applicants will self-nominate and provide completed application forms, a current resume, and proof of VA 1102 or 0800 status at the time of application submission. Participant selection will be made by a distinguished panel of VA leaders in the applicant's career field.
