Make owning a home a reality with VA home loan benefits

When Nicole, an Army Veteran and single mom, left the military, she did not think she could afford to buy a home. VA’s home loan program made home ownership a feasible option for Nicole.

“I felt this sense of pride and joy that I had a home of my own,” says Nicole. “I could have a dog and a cat, and a fenced in yard that my daughter could play in.”

Every year, VA-guaranteed home loans help thousands of Veterans buy their very own home – with no down payment required. VA offers competitive interest rates, limitations on closing costs and no mortgage insurance. VA also provides grants to Veterans with certain severe service-connected disabilities for housing alterations such as ramps and widened doors.

“I look at people who haven’t taken advantage of their benefits, and I look at people who have, and the difference is huge – it’s tremendous,” says Nicole.
