READOUT: Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent’s Meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc of Vietnam

WASHINGTON –Today, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott K.H. Bessent with Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc of Vietnam. Following the Deputy Prime Minister’s meeting with United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, the Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister agreed to begin formal discussions on reciprocal trade between the United States and Vietnam. During their talks, Secretary Bessent emphasized the importance of continued engagement with trade partners, and the need for quick, demonstrable progress to resolve outstanding issues.
