SEC Adopts EDGAR Next Improvements to Filer Access and Account Management

The EDGAR Business Office (EBO) is available to assist filers prepare, enroll, and make a successful transition to the EDGAR Next rule and form amendments to filer access and account management, adopted by the SEC on September 27, 2024. A public Adopting Beta environment reflecting the rule and form amendments, technical changes, and 15 optional application programming interfaces (APIs) will be open for testing on September 30, 2024. EBO is supporting filers in several ways during their transition to EDGAR Next, including through: 

  • Live kick-off webinars, beginning on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, to demonstrate functions on the Beta environment and answer questions;  
  • Live API development support Q&A sessions for filers’ development teams working on connections to optional EDGAR APIs; 
  • Comprehensive filer test guidance with step-by-step instructions to test functions on the new dashboard; 
  • A series of instructional videos; 
  • Additional guidance for filers subject to Section 16 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and asset-backed securities (ABS) issuing entities; and 
  • Email (EDGARNextBeta@sec.gov) and telephone assistance (Filer Support, 202-551-8900, option 2).
