SCDVA Partners with NVLSP
SCDVA has partnered with the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) to assist Veterans in our state with federal claims appeals.
NVLSP is a national nonprofit organization that works to ensure the government delivers to America’s 22 million Veterans and active-duty personnel the benefits to which they are entitled because of disabilities resulting from their military service to our country.
This program is being offered to Veterans in South Carolina for the first time.

SC Stay Rental and Mortgage Assistance Program
South Carolinians who have been affected by COVID-19 and need rent and mortgage assistance can apply to SC Housing's Stay program. This program offers short-term rental and mortgage assistance for up to six consecutive months.
As a part of the CARES Act and through the program, $25 million in COVID-19 housing assistance will be available in South Carolina to residents who have fallen behind in rent and mortgage payments.

Recognizing Palmetto State History
A retired Army colonel and his former West Point roommate believe they have discovered possibly the first Black unit in the Civil War and are spearheading efforts to see the history-making soldiers honored nearly 160 years later.
They believe the members of the 1st South Carolina Volunteers of African Descent could be the first Black soldiers to wear Union uniforms.

VA Secretary Promises a Review of New Rules Regarding Agent Orange
