The time is fast approaching for payments to begin on the SBA’s COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL). As you know, these loans received a 30-month deferment period from the original note and for most borrowers payments begin in the late-October through December timeframe. There are lots of resources available online at www.sba.gov/pay to help you get started in setting yourself up for successful repayment. Initially this includes setting up an account in SBA’s Capital Access Financial System (CAFS) to track and monitor your loan and payment. It is also recommended that you set up an account on Pay.gov where you can either make one-time payments or set up recurring payments to make it easier to stay on schedule. As a reminder, these are direct loans with the SBA and are serviced by SBA’s Disaster Loan Servicing Center in Birmingham, AL. Here you can find contact information and guidance on requesting changes to your loan.
