National Preparedness Month is recognized each September to promote disaster preparedness for communities, individuals, and businesses. This year’s theme is, "A Lasting Legacy, the life you’ve built is worth protecting. Prepare for disasters to create a lasting legacy for you and your family".
Disaster can strike at any time. Even the most prepared businesses and business owners can be adversely impacted. Minnesota's most common natural disasters include floods, tornadoes, blizzards, hailstorms, droughts and wildfires.
For detailed information about how to be ready for the emergencies you may be at risk for visit Ready.gov or the Spanish site at Listo.gov. Learn more about National Preparedness Month by visiting Ready.gov/September and SBA's Prepare for emergencies.

4th Annual SOAR Conference for Women in Business October 11 - 13, 2022
The 4th Annual SOAR Conference for Women in Business is a two-day hybrid event! Designed for women business owners to learn, connect and be inspired to take the next step in their business journey.
The SOAR Conference will begin with a half-day virtual event, followed by an in-person event in Princeton or Duluth, MN (participants can choose the location best for them).
Hosted by the Women’s Business Alliance, a program of the Entrepreneur Fund and a U.S. SBA Women's Business Center.
The SBA announced changes to streamline the submission of Work-in-Process (WIP) information small businesses provide when receiving bonding support through the Surety Bond Guarantee (SBG) Prior Approval Program.
Small businesses in the SBG Program, and bond agents acting on behalf of their small business clients, provide WIP reports to the SBA via the Capital Access Financial System (CAFS). WIP reports contain detailed information about each project the small business is currently performing.
Historically, this information was entered manually, with this announcement, the SBA now provides an automated process. Read more.
