Urbandale-based Golden Openings offers thousands of ceremonial products and services for grand openings, ribbon cuttings, ground breakings, and other special events. Since its founding 25 years ago, it helped tens of thousands of corporations, small businesses, non-profits, chambers, and other organizations raise their profiles and celebrate major milestones.

Today Golden Openings has grown to 14 employees and hundreds of contractors worldwide. Its products are sold on every continent except Antarctica, helping to drive an average annual revenue growth of 28 percent since 1997.

Like many small businesses, Golden Openings was significantly impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic shutdowns worldwide. Baeth credits two SBA PPP loans for positioning the business to survive the economic crisis and to thrive during the recovery period. In 2021, the company had its best year ever with an 84 percent growth in revenue.
