SBA Regional Administrator Marks First Visit to Alabama

Birmingham, ALABAMA – As Region IV Administrator, Allen Thomas oversees U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) programs, offices, and operations in the SBA’s Southeast region, serving Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.  Mr. Thomas was appointed as SBA Region IV Administrator in December, 2021 by the Biden Harris Administration. He is a former three-term mayor, businessman, entrepreneur, and leader in public and private enterprise. As mayor of Greenville, one of North Carolina's largest cities, Mr. Thomas led the post-recession recovery, rapid expansion, and robust economic growth, better connecting the city and region.

Region IV Administrator Allen Thomas will be joining the Alabama District Office team on May 18-19 to visit local Alabama small businesses, resource partners, lenders, and other stakeholders to promote current SBA initiatives and to highlight small business recovery success from the Birmingham area.

The SBA offers a variety of assistance to all entrepreneurs regardless of where they fall in the business lifecycle. The SBA has an extensive outreach network across the United States and in Alabama: Community Navigators, Small Business Development Centers, Women's Business Centers, Veteran Business Outreach Centers, SCORE business mentoring, and more.
