2022 National Small Business Week Winners

 

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Eastern Pennsylvania District Office announces its 2022 Small Business Week Award Winners.

SBA’s Eastern Pennsylvania Small Business Awards winners are selected from among nominees located across Pennsylvania’s eastern 40 counties. The local recognition is part of the annual Presidentially-designated National Small Business Week, Building a Better America Through Entrepreneurship, taking place May 1-7, 2022.

“For more than 50 years, SBA’s National Small Business Week awards have recognized the achievements of small businesses and the organizations that assist them in eastern Pennsylvania,” said SBA Eastern Pennsylvania District Director Steven Dixel. “It’s an honor to present these awards. Each business is exceptional and deserving of recognition as they have demonstrated their resiliency and resolve to create and deliver products and services impacting our communities and economy post pandemic.”

Eastern Pennsylvania District Small Business Week Award winners:

  • Eastern Pennsylvania Small Business Person of the Year: Jordan J. Galasso, Owner, Fit AF Nutrition, Carbondale; nominated by Leigh Fennie, Business Consultant, University of Scranton Small Business Development Center.
  • Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center Excellence and Innovation Award: Lehigh University Small Business Development Center, Bethlehem; Director Brett D. Smith; nominated by Dr. Ernie Post, State Director, Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers Network.
  • Eastern Pennsylvania Entrepreneurial Success of the Year Award: Soltech Solutions LLC, Bethlehem; Cofounders Paul H. Hodges, Michael A. Planer, and Chris L. Clark; nominated by J. William Reynolds, Mayor, City of Bethlehem and President, Bethlehem Economic Development Corporation.
  • Eastern Pennsylvania District Family-Owned Small Business of the Year: Susquehanna Fire Equipment Company, Inc., Dewart; President Keith D. Foust and Vice President Seth A. Foust, Owners; nominated by Steve Stumbris, Director, and Maureen Hauck, Assistant Director, Business Consulting, Bucknell University Small Business Development Center.
  • Eastern Pennsylvania District Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year: Everest Medical Care Group LLC, City of Chester; Cofounders Dr. Guofang Wang and Dr. Xiaobin Li; nominated by Lenin Agudo, Director, and Drake Nakaishi, Consultant, Widener University Small Business Development Center.
  • Eastern Pennsylvania District Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year: Cedarville Engineering Group LLC, Pottstown; CEO April M. Barkasi; nominated by Curt Hatfield, Chief Operating Officer, Cedarville Engineering Group LLC.
  • Eastern Pennsylvania District Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Abe’s Hot Dogs, Mountain Top; Jordan Kotowski, Owner; nominated by Kristin Sassi, Consultant Manager, Wilkes University Small Business Development Center.

During National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration recognizes and awards outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from around the country. Additionally, recognition and educational events throughout SBA’s 10 Regions and 68 Districts will be held throughout the month of May.
