The Small Business Administration is hosting a free webinar at noon April 6 about its guaranteed loan programs.

SBA guarantees loans making it easier for small businesses to get the funding by reducing lender risk. Funds can be used for most business purposes, including long-term fixed assets and operating capital. Amounts range from $500 to $5.5 million.

Path To Prosperity April 6

The FDIC, SBA and USDA are hosting Path to Prosperity at 12:30 p.m. April 6. 

The no-cost series will feature experts in the banking and lending industry, community partners and stakeholders. This series will provide useful information, tools, and resources for small businesses and individuals an opportunity to engage in dynamic discussions intended to create economic progress. This virtual event will include panel discussions comprised of economic and lending experts. There will be facilitated conversations, identifying challenges, sharing best practices, and innovative solutions to accessing capital. Presenters will share how financial institutions, non-profits and community-based organizations can encourage the development of a “Path to Prosperity” by incentivizing unbanked and under-banked small businesses individuals to establish a sustainable relationship with an insured financial institution.

In addition, the federal agencies will highlight resources available including FDIC’s “Money Smart Financial Education Program”, SBA’s Capital, Contracting, and Technical Assistance Programs and USDA’s guaranteed Rural Business Loan Programs.

BIPOC

BIPOC Business Roundtables

The Vermont Partnership for Fairness & Diversity is hosting a series of virtual BIPOC business roundtables. These roundtables will inform recommendations to the State of Vermont on how best to support BIPOC business development.

Each hourlong roundtable will have between 8 to 12 participants. Curtiss Reed, Jr., President & CEO of the CRJ Consulting Group, L3C, will facilitate each roundtable. Key findings will be shared with our growing list of over 500 BIPOC-owned businesses and relevant State agencies.

Each roundtable is at 7 p.m. and are on the following dates:
