I got my EIDL loan, but I haven’t seen a statement for this loan.  Should I be worried?  

No. Statements are not being mailed during deferral period.  

How long until my PPP Forgiveness application is complete?

There is currently a backlog on PPP Forgiveness applications submitted. SBA is working on submitting decisions on those and SBA expects backlog to be solved tentatively by July 1. 

How do I determine if I'm in a low-income area to receive a Targeted EIDL Advance? 

To help applicants determine if they are in a low-income community as defined in section 45D(e) of the Internal Revenue Code, a mapping tool (sbaeidl.policymap.com/app) is available.

As the economy in West Virginia continues to reopen, the West Virginia Small Business Development Center (WV SBDC) is encouraging people to support small businesses through the “Come In, We’re Open” campaign which launched today.

“The ‘Come In, We’re Open’ message is an invitation for West Virginians to head out into their communities and visit the small businesses found there,” said WV SBDC Director Debra Martin. “Throughout the pandemic, small business owners have adapted and persevered and continue to be the backbone of our economy. As West Virginia reopens, it’s critical that small businesses receive enough support to survive long term.”

Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Program

The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program portal is open for operators of live venues, live performing arts organizations, museums and movie theatres, as well as live venue promoters, theatrical producers and talent representatives to apply for critical economic relief.

  • For Shuttered Venue Operators Grant application portal technical assistance such as a password reset, browser suggestions, or how to use the multi-factor authentication with an app and the QR code, applicants can call 1-800-659-2955 or, for the deaf and hard-of-hearing 1-800-877-8339 and follow the prompts to SVOG assistance.
  • The call center is open from 8am-8pm ET, 7 days a week.

SBA Funding Competition for Veteran Entrepreneurs Training

The U.S. Small Business Administration recently announced that non-profit organizations and private sector firms are now eligible to compete for funding of up to $500,000 to deliver federal procurement training to veteran and service-disabled veteran entrepreneurs. The application period continues through July 12, 2021.

Up to two awardees will use the $500,000 in total funding to participate in the Veteran Federal Procurement Entrepreneurship Training Program with grants from SBA’s Office of Veterans Business Development. Awards are for a base project period of 12 months, with three option periods of 12 months each. These funds will cover the costs of educating veterans who intend to pursue, or are already engaged in, federal contracting.

Eligible organizations must submit applications for the Veteran Federal Procurement Entrepreneurship Training Program funding opportunity by 11:59 p.m. ET on July 12, 2021, through Grants.gov. Search for opportunity number SB-OVVT-21-001. Applications not submitted via Grants.gov will not be evaluated. 

SBA’s Office of Veterans Business Development hosts a conference call Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 2 p.m. EDT to answer questions related to the Veteran Federal Procurement Entrepreneurship Training Program grant announcement. Please submit any questions to Jerry Godwin at jerry.godwin@sba.gov no later than Thursday, June 17, 2021. To join the call, please use the following information:

Elevating Small Business Series

Elevating Small Business Series on June 24 at 1 pm EDT

Join the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for an online panel discussion with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender-owned small businesses as they share their small business stories and how they utilized SBA’s economic aid to pivot during the pandemic. You will also learn about the SBA resources available to help entrepreneurs compete in the marketplace: launch or expand businesses; receive counseling; funding opportunities; and help to recover or rebuild from disasters.
