Elevating Small Business Series on June 24 at 1 pm EDT

Join the SBA on June 24 for an online panel discussion with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender-owned small businesses as they share their small business stories and how they utilized SBA’s economic aid to pivot during the pandemic. You will also learn about the SBA resources available to help entrepreneurs compete in the marketplace: launch or expand businesses; receive counseling; funding opportunities; and help to recover or rebuild from disasters

The event will be moderated by Julie Verratti, Associate Administrator for the SBA’s Office of Field Operations. In addition, there will be participation from Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI)

Sixth Annual Growth Accelerator Fund Competition, Debuts SBIR Catalyst to Award over $5 Million in Prizes

The SBA seeks proposals from the nation’s innovation-focused entrepreneur support organizations that outline programs to speed the launch, growth, and scale of deep-tech small businesses across the country. Applicants should submit a 12-slide deck and a 90-second video, addressing the relevant elements of one of the following tracks, by no later than 4:00 EDT on July 2nd

Funding Competition to Organizations Providing Federal Procurement Training to Veteran Entrepreneurs

The SBA announced that non-profit organizations and private sector firms are now eligible to compete for funding of up to $500,000 to deliver federal procurement training to veteran and service-disabled veteran entrepreneurs. The application period ends July 12

SBA’s Office of Veterans Business Development will host a conference call on Tuesday, June 22 at 2 p.m. EDT to answer questions related to the Veteran Federal Procurement Entrepreneurship Training Program

Community Navigator

Community Navigator Pilot Program

Through the Community Navigator Pilot Program, SBA will engage with states, local governments, SBA resource partners, and other organizations in targeted outreach for small businesses underserved communities.  The pilot is a $100 million grant program enacted through the American Rescue Plan Act, which will provide counseling, networking and the assistance needed during this time of economic recovery to the nation’s smallest businesses

Competitive grant awards will range from $1 million to $5 million for a two-year performance period. Applicants have until July 12 to submit their applications at grants.gov
