Join the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (WHIAAPI) for a live discussion on economic recovery for Asian American and Pacific Islander-owned small businesses.  This event is designed to provide information on Federal resources available to small business owners to help them recover and stay in business.  Speakers from the Department of Justice, the Small Business Administration (SBA) and Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) will provide information and resources.

Attendees will hear:

  • Overview of Federal resources and efforts to address the impact of hate crimes against small business owners and the community
  • Resources to support small and minority-owned business
  • SBA COVID-recovery related program updates

Government contracting

To increase small business participation in the 8(a) Business Development Program and HUBZone Program, the SBA Los Angeles District Office will be providing a series of back-to-back workshop sessions during the 2nd Quarter of FY2021.

Wednesday, March 31

11:00am PDT

The first session will be covering the 8(a) BD program eligibility and requirements followed by the second session from 12:00-12:30 on HUBZone Program eligibility.

Today President Biden signed the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Extension Act into law extending the PPP deadline from March 31 to May 31, 2021. Read the full statement from SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman about how this is "providing additional critical relief to the smallest of the small businesses."
