2021 Covid-19 Economic Aid: Applying for PPP

Diane Sturgeon, Deputy District Director of the Maine District Office of the SBA will join CEI Maine for this 1-hour workshop on PPP loan program details, as well as additional resources and assistance.

The Paycheck Protection Program is a loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll. 

Start by talking to your commercial bank; most banks are prioritizing current customers. If you don’t have a commercial banking relationship, or your bank isn’t doing PPP loans, you can find a lender HERE.

Spanish Language Webinar: New Changes to the PPP Loan Program

Attention Small Business Owners! Join the New England SBA on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 6:00pm EST for a Spanish language webinar on the newest changes to the new Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to ensure equity. Borrowers must apply for a forgivable PPP loan before the March 31 statutory deadline, subject to the availability of funding.

SBA Spanish speakers will outline:

• Exclusive PPP loan application period for businesses and non-profits with fewer than 20 employees.

• New loan calculation for sole proprietors, independent contractors, and self-employed individuals.

• Access for non-citizen small business owners who are lawful U.S. residents

After the presentation, there will be a brief Q&A session.

Cybersecurity for Small Business

When: Thursday, March 4th, 2:00pm-3:30pm

The U.S. Small Business Administration, in conjunction with the Federal Trade Commission, is pleased to announce this collaborative webinar designed to help small businesses keep their business data safe.

By participating in this webinar, you will learn the basics to protect your business from cyber-attacks. The webinar will focus on the most common methods of cyber-attacks, including phishing, ransomware, email authentication, choosing a web host, physical security, and secure remote access. You’ll also learn how you can use the free resources from the FTC to train your employees and help keep your business data and computers safe.

Diane Sturgeon, Acting District Director of the SBA Maine District Office, will welcome participants and briefly discuss SBA programs and services.

Rosario Méndez, Attorney with the Federal Trade Commission's Division of Consumer and Business Education, will be the lead presenter for this informative small business training.
