SBA Offers Virtual "SWAG" Networking Opportunity for Women in Shelby County - Thursday, January 28th

Women networking

The U.S. Small Business Administration is bringing a free networking opportunity for women entrepreneurs in Shelby County.

“Stellar Women Achieving Greatness” (SWAG) is a free, networking opportunity for women entrepreneurs. SWAG will be “Virtual” for women business owners in Shelby County on Thursday, January 28, 2021 and will be conducted via Zoom. This networking opportunity is hosted by Lori Hackney, Economic Development Specialist of the SBA's Iowa District Office, and Jo Eckert, Branch Manager of the SBA’s Cedar Rapids Branch Office in conjunction with the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The January 28th SWAG event will run from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

SWAG offers women who are in business, or who are thinking about starting a business, the opportunity to meet, connect with and provide mutual support to each other. Attendees will give a short elevator pitch and then share thoughts, ideas and suggestions with the rest of the group with the goal of making connections with others who have faced, or may be experiencing, similar issues in starting and growing a woman-owned small business in Iowa.

To register for the January 28th SWAG event and to receive the Zoom Call information, please contact the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce & Industry at (712) 755-2114.

For more information on SWAG, contact Jo Eckert at (319) 362-6535 (office), (319) 450-2027 (cell) or at jo.eckert@sba.gov.
