On June 4, 2020, the Department of Commerce announced that it was temporarily reducing or eliminating the costs of several of their export services, providing relief to U.S. businesses affected by COVID-19.

Advocacy Submits Comments on EPA’s Economic Guidelines for the Consideration of the Science Advisory Board Review Panel

On June 5, Advocacy submitted a letter to EPA on the Science Advisory Board Peer Review of EPA’s Draft Guidelines for the Preparing Economic Analyses. Advocacy encouraged the panel to pay special attention to recommendations in the Guidelines on Regulatory Flexibility Act compliance as well as small business impacts.

Advocacy Submits Comments on EPA’s Proposed Industrial Stormwater Multi-Sector General Permit

On June 1, Advocacy submitted a letter to EPA on the 2020 National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) general permit for stormwater discharges associated with industrial activity. Advocacy encouraged EPA to fully comply with the Regulatory Flexibility Act by evaluating the economic impact on small businesses.

On June 17, Assistant Chief Counsel Prianka Sharma, along with other Co-Chairs of the Energy, Environment, and Agriculture Task Force, received an award from Women in Government Relations as the best task force of the year for their work organizing panels, meetings, and events relevant to small business owners.
