Bank Lending Basics for Small Business Owners

This workshop will cover the items needed from a prospective borrower to underwrite a loan request, and what are the key determining factors in approving the loan request. Those factors will include information on the five C’s of credit which are capacity, character, capital, collateral, and conditions. The material will explain how banks determine available cash flow to service the requested debt, equity requirements, and what types of collateral are required depending upon the request. The course will be presented by First Citizens Bank President, Dave Weber.

If you are interested in starting your own business, this workshop is a must! You will learn about the assistance and resources available to you at the Albuquerque SBDC. By the time you leave you will know why you are going into business, you will understand the nature of your capital, and you will understand the advantages of preparing a business plan. Both accounting and marketing concepts and their relationship to one another are discussed during this two-hour session. This workshop is also recommended for owners of existing businesses.
