Limited Number of Seats Still Available for SBA Lender Match Event in Cedar Rapids - Sept. 17

Financing Your Business

The U.S. Small Business Administration will host an SBA Small Business Lender Match event on Tuesday, September 17th from 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Lowe Park Arts & Environment Center, 4500 N. 10th Street, Marion, IA 52302  

Entrepreneurs seeking financing to start their own small business or grow an existing small business will have the opportunity to meet representatives from SBA participating lenders during this event, which will follow a “speed coaching” format. Attendees will be scheduled for three 15-minute, one-on-one meetings where they can pitch their financing needs and learn more about how the small business financing process works.  Attendees are encouraged to come with an elevator speech, a business plan and business financial information (if available).

Lenders in the Cedar Rapids market participating in the SBA Small Business Lender Match include: BankIowa, Bankers Trust, Cedar Rapids Bank and Trust, Community Savings Bank, Farmers State Bank, Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank, Great Western Bank, Hills Bank, U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo.

Staff from the SBA’s Iowa District Office, along with SBA resource partners including SCORE, America’s SBDC – Iowa, the Iowa Women’s Business Center and the Veterans Business Outreach Center, will provide small business counseling, business planning assistance and other management and technical assistance at the event.  Representatives from the Iowa Economic Development Authority, and SBA Certified Development Companies (CDCs) also will be available.

The event is free, but space and appointments will be limited to the first 30 registrants. THERE ARE LIMITED NUMBER OF SEATS STILL AVAILABLE. Deadline for registration is Monday, September 9th.  

The purpose of the 15 minute sessions is to introduce your business and briefly discuss your financing needs with a lender. Attendance at the SBA Small Business Lender Match does not guarantee that you will get a small business loan.
