Public Affairs Specialist Norm Eng from the Massachusetts District Office is supporting HQ and the Office of Investment and Innovation at the SBIR/STTR Spring Innovation Conference at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston this week.  Innovators from across the world are visiting the conference and expo to connect with SBIR program managers and meeting one-on-one to find out about funding opportunities with America’s SEED Fund!


The MA District Office presented Webster Five with the Lender of the Quarter recognition for Q2 in FY19.  Webster Five bank made 7 loans in the second quarter of FY19 for $875,000 - a 350% increase by units and 1,261% increase by dollar amount from the first quarter in FY19. The increased lending activity has propelled their ranking on the monthly loan volume report, from 43rd in Q1 to 20th in Q2.

The Massachusetts District Office hosted a Microlender training for partners from across New England in Worcester, MA – with help from the HQ team - Dan Upham and Chris Webb from the microloan branch.


District Director Bob Nelson gave an update at the Western Massachusetts SCORE chapter and gave a presentation of Platinum Award to the Chapter Chair, Mychal Connolly.


Economic Development Specialist Lisa Gonzalez Welch delivered a workshop in collaboration with AARP and MSBDC on “Essentials of Creating a Business Plan” held at the James Hunt Jr. Training Center in Worcester.
