SBA Regional Administrator visits Columbia to Launch Drive 8(a) Event and Strengthen Alliances with Community Organizations

On Tuesday, Apr. 9, Ashley D. Bell, Region 4 Administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), will visit Columbia, SC to kick off the Drive 8(a) Federal Business Summit and sign strategic alliances with three entities that assist small businesses in South Carolina.

The Drive 8(a) Federal Business Summit is a half-day event that targets minority and economically disadvantaged businesses that are interested in doing business with the federal government. Entrepreneurs will learn how get the 8(a) certification and how to utilize the certification to increase federal contracting opportunities.

The purpose of a strategic alliance is to develop a formal relationship with organizations to strengthen and expand business development in the local area.
