Making rural Oklahoma aware of small business opportunities is the goal of the Rural Strong Oklahoma program from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).  The first session will be held at the Ardmore Convention Center March 20th beginning at 9:30 am.

Through the Rural Strong Oklahoma program SBA and USDA are collaborating to increase capital access and investment in rural America and expand businesses in rural communities.

“We are working with local governments, chambers and community organizations to reach as many aspiring and existing entrepreneurs as possible to help educate rural areas on the many ways that SBA and USDA may assist them in starting and growing their small businesses,” said Dottie Overal, Oklahoma SBA District Director.  “Whether it is through working with a local lender or business counseling, exporting, or government contracting, we can assist entrepreneurs through any stage of their business cycle.”

The SBA and USDA will be in Ardmore March 20th to host roundtables and trainings to help start, grow and expand small businesses, work together to improve investment opportunities in rural areas, improve innovation for rural technical assistance providers and provide tools for rural businesses to secure federal contracts and export products around the world.  A Resource Fair will feature organizations dedicated to helping Oklahoma small businesses grow.
