When Linda McMahon, head of the SBA and advocate for the nation’s 30 million small business owners, visited Kentucky last summer, she was in the midst of her nationwide listening tour to hear from each SBA district directly and meet with entrepreneurs.

Success Story: The Miller House Restaurant & Catering

Larry and Jeanne Kirk had a dream to own a casual, full service restaurant specializing in American cuisine with a southern flair. The Kirks connected with Lois Decker, Center Director for the Murray State University SBDC in Owensboro, who helped them develop a business plan and financial projections for the business and obtain an SBA loan. Then disaster struck.
